Sometimes life forces you to stand still.

Sometimes life forces you to pause. It is precisely there that space for growth emerges. For Chanice Janssens, a profound accident became the beginning of a new path. A path on which she rediscovered herself and transformed her pain into strength. As a coach, speaker, and performer, she now inspires others to do the same. In this interview, she shares her personal story, her challenges, and her dreams for the future.

Could you introduce yourself?
My name is Chanice Janssens (33). I was born in Weert and now live in Rotterdam. I work as a coach, speaker, model, and actress. Everything I do revolves around transformation: helping people grow from within and then showing that on the outside.

What did you want to be when you grew up, and did that dream ultimately come true?
As a child, I dreamed of becoming a singer and performing on stage. However, that ambition didn't come true in the way I envisioned then. Now, I actually get paid not to sing, haha. But I did take singing lessons and wrote my own song. For me, that confirms: anything can be learned if you're willing to invest and persevere.

What was your journey like to where you are now?
From the age of sixteen, I worked as a hairstylist and color specialist, both domestically and abroad. Until an accident in 2018 changed everything. I could no longer perform my work and had to reinvent myself. During my rehabilitation, I discovered my interest in the connection between body and mind. That became my new path. I retrained as a holistic trauma coach and NLP master, and delved into reiki, breathwork, and trauma release. No day is the same; and that suits me perfectly.

What was your biggest personal breakthrough?
My biggest breakthrough came unexpectedly: I accidentally ended up in a professional dance group, without any prior experience. I trained incredibly hard to deliver a good performance. That moment unleashed something within me. I developed a taste for performing and that same year, I performed more often in theaters. I even became one of the winners of Miss Universe Dutch Caribbean 2025.

Another turning point was when I was approached on the street and asked if I wanted to interview. A week later, I was interviewing A-list Hollywood stars at the Septimius Awards event in Amsterdam. Now I am regularly asked for interviews at events and on red carpets.

I also cleared many personal blockages: from making myself small, not daring to speak, and feeling not good enough, to the woman I am now. That has been a long journey. I am grateful that I can even walk again, let alone dance on a stage. I never expected my life to turn out this way.

What is your expertise?
I help people transform their pain into strength and purpose. To create a life where self-love, self-confidence, and authenticity are central.

Who do you primarily work with?
Mainly with women. In the beginning, I focused on themes such as domestic and sexual violence. Now my focus is broader: self-love, confidence, and achieving goals.

What is a project that has always stayed with you?
Photoshoots where participants shared their personal stories about slut-shaming and abuse. Those were intense, emotional, and healing days. This year, I will be re-launching this concept with new social themes.

What were your biggest challenges?
I started my business while still recovering from whiplash. My concentration was so poor that a neurological test had to be stopped. I had no laptop, no knowledge of tools like Canva, and no entrepreneurial experience. But I invested in myself, in knowledge and guidance. From there, I grew step by step. Additionally, I had to invest a lot in my portfolio, brand awareness, and reviews – nothing comes easy. You have to invest time, energy, and knowledge before you reap the rewards.

What do you currently offer?
At the moment, I offer a free community with exclusive benefits. In addition, you can come to me for coaching programs and motivational speaking. I also provide interviews and event hosting, and I organize events with inspiring guest speakers. Furthermore, I can be hired as a model and actress.

When did you start your business?
In 2020, in the middle of my rehabilitation process. While everything was uncertain, I decided to create my own path. Experts could not say whether my health would ever improve. I needed help with daily things and therapies. During that period, I learned to trust myself even more. I even received advice to work in a factory, but that felt completely out of line with who I am. My own experiences gave me direction: I wanted to not only heal myself but also help others and make taboos discussable.
